A percentage discount tells you how much comes off the original price. Turning “30% off” into an actual price — and the amount you save — takes a quick multiplication this tool handles for you.

The saving is the original price times the discount percentage; the final price is what's left. Watch for stacked discounts: an extra 10% off an already-30%-off price is not 40% off — the second cut applies to the reduced price, so the effective discount is a bit less.
