How We Calculate

CalcJuice exists to give clear, accurate answers to everyday number questions, with no clutter and no data collection. This page explains how the tools work, where our numbers come from, and the standards we hold the content to.

How our calculators work

Every calculator uses a standard, well-established formula, the same math a bank, clinician, or textbook would use. We do not invent proprietary formulas or hide the method. Each tool is paired with a plain-language explainer that shows how the calculation works, usually with a worked example using real numbers, so you can check the result yourself.

The math runs entirely in your browser. Your inputs are never sent to us or stored on our servers, which is why we can promise the calculators are private by default.

Where our data comes from

When an article or blog post cites a statistic, it comes from a credible primary source, and we link to it. We rely on organizations like the U.S. Census Bureau, the Federal Reserve, the CDC, the IRS, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and peer-reviewed research. We do not fabricate figures or present estimates as hard data. Where a chart shows a projection or model rather than measured data, we label it as such.

Our editorial standards

• Accuracy first. Formulas are verified, and statistics are sourced and linked.
• Plain language over jargon. If a term matters, we explain it.
• Honesty about limits. We say when a tool is an estimate, and what it cannot tell you.
• Reviewed and updated. Content carries a review date, and we correct errors when we find them.
